Las Vegas Grand Prix 2026: Formula 1's Night Race on the Strip

Donesim Team · · 14 min read

The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix runs on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on 19 to 21 November 2026. It is Round 21 of 23, with Qatar and Abu Dhabi still to come, and not a sprint weekend. The race starts on Saturday night at 20:00 local time, which is 04:00 UTC on Sunday 22 November, 04:00 in the UK, 05:00 in Central Europe, 22:00 on Saturday in Mexico City and 15:00 on Sunday in Sydney. In 2025 the F1 Las Vegas weekend sold out, with more than 300,000 fans over three days by the organisers' count, as Reuters reported. The race is contracted through 2037. Our United States Grand Prix guide covered the Austin round in October.

Formula 1 in Las Vegas: session times and the Strip circuit

Times are Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8), with UTC in brackets, from Formula 1's timetable for the weekend, which may change.

  • Thursday 19 November: Practice 1 at 16:30 (00:30 Friday), Practice 2 at 20:00 (04:00 Friday)
  • Friday 20 November: Practice 3 at 16:30 (00:30 Saturday), Qualifying at 20:00 (04:00 Saturday)
  • Saturday 21 November: Grand Prix at 20:00 (04:00 Sunday)

The race runs 50 laps of the 6.201 km, 17-turn circuit, which has a long straight on the Strip itself and Turns 5 to 9 at the Sphere. F1 Academy, the only support series, ends its season here.

The zones, the concerts and what is new for 2026

The 2026 fan zones include Flamingo, the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere, Koval, East Harmon and West Harmon. New for 2026, the promoter says, the last three connect, so their ticket holders can move between them. The Turn 3 Grandstand now sits on the west side of Turn 3, facing Turns 3 and 4 and the Koval straight, and single-day hospitality is sold for the first time.

The T-Mobile Stage, for T-Mobile Zone tickets, has Two Friends and Ja Rule on Thursday, Disclosure and Gorgon City on Friday and Sean Paul and Natasha Bedingfield on Saturday. FOX5 reported that the Heineken Stage in East Harmon, for East Harmon, Koval and West Harmon tickets, has The Australian Bee Gees Show on Thursday, Icona Pop and Eli & Fur on Friday, and Disco Dom and LP Giobbi on Saturday. We found no published set times.

After Saturday's race the Backstreet Boys headline the first F1 Afterparty at Sphere, which requires a valid three-day race ticket. Packages were announced in July from 925 USD with T-Mobile General Admission and 1,560 USD with a T-Mobile grandstand seat, including taxes and fees, with add-ons from 116 USD for T-Mobile Zone holders and 162 USD for other zones.

F1 Las Vegas tickets: official sellers, prices and what is left

Buy from the promoter at f1lasvegasgp.com or from Formula 1's ticket store. The promoter's ticket terms say tickets may be bought only from the promoter or its authorised agents. The lookalike lasvegas.gp, run by TicketsGP s.r.o. of Brno, says in its footer that it "is unofficial and is not associated in any way with the Formula 1 companies".

Three-day launch prices, with taxes and fees, come from the promoter's March announcement as reported by 8 News Now and Sports Illustrated. Views are the promoter's descriptions, and status is Formula 1's store at the time of writing unless noted.

Single-day tickets went on sale on 13 August at launch prices from 81 USD for general admission and 102 USD for a grandstand, News 3 LV reported. The Review-Journal reported that prices rise through the year.

Caesars sells views of the main straight from two of its resorts: the GIADA Viewing Experience at The Vanderpump Hotel (300 to 1,300 USD per person) and Caramella Terrace at Planet Hollywood (300 to 1,000 USD), plus tax with an 18% gratuity included. Its release does not say they include circuit admission. Wynn's non-refundable Grand Fan Package adds two Sphere-zone grandstand tickets to a three-night stay, from 6,643 USD plus taxes, with a 9% service fee on the tickets' retail price.

Under the promoter's ticket terms, sales are final, a delayed or unfinished session is not refunded, and only an event that is cancelled and not rescheduled brings a refund, of up to face value. Reselling for profit voids a ticket, transfers work only as the promoter authorises, and tickets open from a Ticketmaster account in the official F1 Las Vegas app, with screenshots refused.

At the gate: bags, re-entry and cash

The promoter's A to Z guide and venue pages say totes and backpacks must be clear and at most 12 by 6 by 12 inches (about 30 x 15 x 30 cm). A small handbag up to 6 by 9 inches (about 15 x 23 cm) need not be clear. Leave these at the hotel:

  • umbrellas, chairs and drones
  • outside food, alcohol, cans, glass and sealed water bottles
  • hydration packs, coolers, selfie sticks and tripods

An empty plastic bottle up to 24 oz (0.7 litres) is allowed, and water is free at the beverage tents.

The guide adds that re-entry needs your ticket scanned out as you leave and ends at 19:00, an hour before the 20:00 sessions. The event is cashless, children under two enter free on a lap, and under-18s need an adult. We found no official 2026 gate times, so check the F1 Las Vegas app or the promoter's site before you go. Formula 1's store tells general admission holders to arrive "very early to the circuit to secure a good viewing spot".

Entering the United States: ESTA or a visa

Citizens of the 42 Visa Waiver Program countries, including the UK, most of the EU (not Bulgaria, Cyprus or Romania), Japan, South Korea, Australia and Qatar, need an ESTA from CBP's official ESTA site. It costs 40.62 USD, lasts two years or until the passport expires, and needs an e-passport. CBP says to apply at least 72 hours before the flight, and an approval does not guarantee entry. Travel to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen or North Korea since March 2011 or Cuba since January 2021, or dual Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, Sudanese, North Korean or Cuban nationality, means a visa instead.

Fans from Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Egypt, India, China and the Gulf states other than Qatar need a B1/B2 visa. Since September 2025 the State Department has required most applicants to attend an in-person interview in their country of nationality or residence, so a first-time applicant cannot expect a visa before the race. A presidential proclamation in force since 1 January 2026 bars entry for nationals of Iran and 18 other countries and stops visitor visas for 19 more, including Venezuela and Cuba, though visas issued earlier stay valid.

British, EU, Turkish, Brazilian, Mexican, Canadian, Australian, Indian, Emirati, Saudi and Qatari passports, among others, need to be valid only for the stay. Azerbaijani, Chinese, Kazakh, Bahraini, Kuwaiti and Omani ones must be valid six months beyond it, under CBP's rule. Mexicans flying in need a passport with their visa, as a Border Crossing Card alone does not cover air arrival, and Canadians need a passport. CBP may photograph non-citizens on entry and exit, and Mobile Passport Control at Las Vegas takes returning ESTA travellers, not first-timers. Check your own case on esta.cbp.dhs.gov and travel.state.gov.

Getting there and around: the airport, the Monorail and road closures

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), where foreign airlines such as British Airways, KLM, Aeroméxico and Air Canada use Terminal 3, is about 2 miles from the Strip. Airport taxis charge a Nevada Taxicab Authority flat fare by zone for a direct trip to or from the Strip: 22.25 USD up to Tropicana, 26.25 USD from Tropicana to Flamingo or 30.25 USD from Flamingo to the Stratosphere, plus a card fee if you pay by card. From 01:00 on 19 November to noon on 23 November, taxi trips starting or ending in the Strip corridor cost 15 USD more. Taxis cannot be hailed on the street, so on the Strip take one from a hotel rank.

The airport's taxi page puts the ranks outside Terminal 1 doors 1 to 4 and at Terminal 3 Level Zero by door 52, with ride-share pickups on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 garage and the valet level of the Terminal 3 garage. RTC route 108 and the Red Line stop at Terminal 1 Level Zero, a free shuttle ride from Terminal 3. The Monorail does not serve the airport.

In race week the Monorail runs non-stop from 07:00 on Tuesday 17 November to 03:00 on Monday 23 November, every 4 to 8 minutes, says its Formula 1 guide. Use Harrah's/The LINQ for the T-Mobile Zone, Flamingo/Caesars Palace for Flamingo and Horseshoe/Paris for Koval and the Harmon zones. Fares are 6.25 USD a ride, 15.50 USD a day and 33 USD for three days, less online.

At the time of writing, the promoter's transportation site showed only an "upcoming 2026" page. The Venetian's race page expects roads around the circuit to start closing at 13:00 on race days, close fully at 15:00 and reopen between midnight and 03:00, with footbridges open 24/7, though the Review-Journal reported crews enclosing several pedestrian bridges to block free views. The official F1 Las Vegas app includes wayfinding, so you can plan a walking route from your hotel to your zone.

Hotels, weather and the basics

For the 2025 Vegas GP weekend, the Review-Journal found that the lowest available rates averaged 1,624.08 USD at MGM's nine Strip hotels and 784.61 USD at Caesars' eight. An FTC rule has required advertised room prices to include resort fees since May 2025, though taxes, such as the Strip's 13.38% room tax, may be shown separately.

National Weather Service normals for the race days are highs of 64 to 65 °F (about 18 °C) and lows of 45 to 46 °F (7 to 8 °C), and November averages 0.30 inches (about 8 mm) of rain. Sunset is about 16:30, so the two 16:30 practice sessions start at dusk, the 20:00 sessions run in full dark, and the race ends around 22:00 on a night that normally falls to 7 or 8 °C. Bring a warm coat.

Sales tax is 8.375%, the drinking age is 21, and a county ordinance bans glass containers on Strip sidewalks.

Staying connected over the Formula 1 weekend: why a Donesim eSIM fits

We found no 2026 statement from the promoter or the carriers on fan Wi-Fi or extra network capacity at the circuit. Fans from Mexico may already be covered. AT&T México's postpaid plans include US calls and texts, with US data on its top postpaid plan, and Telcel says its plans' allowances can be used in the US. Many other home plans charge for US roaming:

  • UK: 6.75 GBP a day for 500 MB on EE, 7 GBP a day on O2
  • Germany: 7.99 EUR a day on Vodafone, 5.95 EUR for 2 GB over 7 days on Telekom's SurfPass USA
  • Spain: 6.05 EUR a day for 500 MB on Movistar
  • Turkey: 500 TL a day on Turkcell
  • Australia: 10 AUD a day on Telstra
  • UAE and Saudi Arabia: 35 AED a day on e&, 184 SAR for 10 GB over 4 days on STC
  • Azerbaijan: 25 AZN for 2 GB over 10 days on Azercell, 21.99 AZN for 1.5 GB over 10 days on Bakcell

AT&T's visitor eSIM sells data passes in its Connect on Demand app from 3.99 USD for a day to 40.99 USD for 30, with what AT&T calls "unlimited connectivity" and 5 GB of hotspot. The phone must be 5G and dual-SIM, must not be locked to a carrier, and must already carry an international number. T-Mobile announced a limited-time visitor pass in May, from 25 USD for 7 days to 50 USD for 30 plus taxes, which we could not confirm is still sold.

With Donesim, you buy and install the plan at home, so data is ready for the F1 Las Vegas app, the taxi or ride-share, your maps and the Monorail e-ticket once you turn on roaming after landing. Checkout asks for an email address, not a passport, and your own SIM and number stay in the phone, so bank and ticket codes still reach you if your home plan receives texts abroad, though your home carrier may charge roaming rates for calls and texts on it.

At the time of writing, 3 GB for 15 days costs 4.18 USD, less than one day of UK or Australian roaming, and 10 GB for 30 days costs 11.57 USD. Every plan is on Donesim's United States page, which lists Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile among its networks. The plan is data only, with no US number. WhatsApp keeps your usual number, and its messages and calls run on the eSIM's data. Donesim does not currently renew or extend a plan in place, so pick a size that lasts the whole trip.

Set up your eSIM before you fly

  1. Check our compatibility list, and that your phone is not carrier-locked.
  2. Buy a day or two before you fly, as Donesim's page says a plan "may begin when it is provisioned, installed, activated, or first connected".
  3. Install it on home Wi-Fi with our install walkthrough.
  4. Open your ticket in the F1 Las Vegas app and buy the Monorail e-ticket before you travel.
  5. After landing, turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only, and keep the home line for SMS codes.
  6. Pack a warm coat and a charged phone for a night that ends after 22:00.

Formula 1 moves on to Qatar on 27 to 29 November, with our Qatar eSIM plans for fans doing both races, and ends its season in Abu Dhabi on 4 to 6 December, covered by our UAE eSIM plans.

Frequently asked questions

What day and time is the Las Vegas Grand Prix 2026?

Saturday 21 November at 20:00 local time, after the drivers' parade at 18:00 and the national anthem at 19:44. That is 23:00 on Saturday in US Eastern time, 22:00 in Mexico City, 01:00 on Sunday in São Paulo, 07:00 on Sunday in Istanbul, 08:00 in Baku and Dubai and 15:00 in Sydney.

How do I get from Las Vegas airport to the Strip?

By taxi at a flat zone fare plus a 15 USD race surcharge from 19 November to midday on 23 November, by ride-share, or by RTC bus from Terminal 1. The airport reports lane closures in its connector tunnels through December 2026 for repaving, so allow extra time.

Do I need an ESTA for the Las Vegas Grand Prix?

Visa Waiver Program citizens, from Britain and Japan to Qatar, need one unless their travel history or a second nationality rules them out. It allows visits of up to 90 days for tourism or business. Mexican and Brazilian fans need a visa instead, and Canadians only a passport.

Can you watch the Las Vegas Grand Prix for free?

Not in any practical sense. We found no public spot that sees the track, and the Review-Journal reported that several pedestrian bridges are being enclosed to block the view. Apart from race tickets, the views we found are paid resort packages, such as Caesars' restaurant and terrace experiences over the main straight.
