Singapore Grand Prix 2026: Guide to Formula 1's Marina Bay Night Race

The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix runs on the Marina Bay Street Circuit on 9 to 11 October 2026, Singapore's first sprint weekend. The night race starts at 20:00 Singapore time, 12:00 UTC, on Sunday 11 October, a week after the Sepang round covered in our Malaysia race guide.

Formula 1 in Singapore: session times and the circuit

Times are Singapore time, UTC+8, with UTC in brackets.

• Friday 9 October: Practice 1 at 16:30 (08:30), Sprint Qualifying at 20:30 (12:30)
• Saturday 10 October: Sprint at 17:00 (09:00), Qualifying at 21:00 (13:00)
• Sunday 11 October: Grand Prix at 20:00 (12:00)

The race is 62 laps of the 4.927 km street circuit. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia support races start at 19:45 on Saturday and 15:40 on Sunday.

Concerts: who plays where, and which ticket gets you in

Every ticket covers Zone 4 and its Padang Stage. The Wharf and Barge stages are in Zone 1 and need a Zone 1 or Zone 2 ticket for the day of the act.

• Barge Stage: Major Lazer Soundsystem, DJ Snake and TOKiMONSTA on Friday, Rev Run and Flight Facilities on Saturday, Mark Ronson and ZHU on Sunday

The last Padang Stage act each night starts after the day's final Formula 1 session. The artists' pages on singaporegp.sg list JJ Lin at 22:30 on Friday, The Killers at 22:30 on Saturday and Lana Del Rey at 22:25 on Sunday. The Padang Stage fan zone is first come, first served, and once it is full it may not let you back in. The organiser says the line-up and schedule can change.

Tickets and zones: where to buy and what is left

Buy only from singaporegp.sg, its hotline on +65 6042 5066, or a seller on the organiser's list of official resellers, which includes the Formula 1 store at tickets.formula1.com.

Check the address before you pay. The site singaporeticketsgp.com is run by TicketsGP s.r.o. of Brno, and its own footer says it "is unofficial and is not associated in any way with the Formula 1 companies". The addresses singapore.gp and f1-singapore.com redirect to it. The organiser bans resale on Carousell, eBay and Viagogo, and says its system cancels tickets it finds resold. The gates accept only a ticket's first scan.

Most general tickets live in the official Singapore GP app, which needs iOS 16 or Android 9 or later. An opened ticket works offline, but the gates refuse screenshots and printouts. Transfer tickets in the app before the day they are valid, because the terms bar transfers on the day itself.

Zone 4 Walkabout and the Stamford, Padang, Empress and Connaught grandstands cover Zone 4 only. The Premier Walkabout and every other grandstand cover Zones 1 to 4, with a wristband from a Zone 1 or 2 Information Booth to cross between zones.

At the time of writing almost every grandstand was sold out. Friday tickets were left for the Republic and Chicane @ Turn 2 grandstands and the Premier Walkabout, all of which reach the Wharf and Barge stages. The Zone 4 Walkabout was still on sale for Sunday, race day, at S$368, and for Friday at S$198, Saturday at S$298, or Friday and Saturday together at S$368, with 9% GST included. The ticket page on singaporegp.sg shows what is left.

The organiser strongly advises against bringing under-7s, and under-12s must stay with a parent or guardian. Every child needs a ticket. The cars can reach 130 dB, so bring ear protection. The terms give no refund when bad weather cuts or cancels sessions. A refund is due only in the cases they list, such as the whole race being cancelled and not rescheduled.

Gates, opening hours and what to bring

The Circuit Park opens on Friday at 13:30 at Gates 1, 2 and 8 and at 14:00 at the Zone 4 gates, then at 14:15 on Saturday and 15:00 on Sunday. It closes at midnight, and the terms allow no entry or re-entry in the final hour, so be inside by 23:00. Scan out if you plan to come back the same day.

Every gate checks bags. Leave these behind:

• bags over 20 litres, and luggage
• outside food and drink, glass and cans, apart from one water bottle of up to 1 litre per person, refillable at water points
• selfie sticks, monopods and tripods over 30 cm extended, and cameras over 30 cm long with the lens fitted (personal cameras are fine)
• chairs and stools, drones, pets other than guide dogs, and flag poles (team and country flags are fine)
• vapes, which are illegal in Singapore

Umbrellas can come in but cannot be used at grandstands, viewing platforms or the Padang Stage fan zone. Power banks are not on the list, and rental stations sit near selected Information Booths.

Getting to the circuit, and home after the race

Roads in the Marina Centre and Padang area close from 00:01 on 7 October, and all of them are open again by 05:30 on 13 October. LTA's race transport notice strongly encourages public transport. Your ticket names your recommended gate.

After the Friday and Saturday programmes the last North South and East West Line trains leave City Hall at 00:30, and after Sunday's at 00:45. Other lines are extended too, except the Changi Airport branch. Its last train leaves Tanah Merah at the usual 23:50, so after the late concerts plan on a taxi or ride-hailing car to the airport.

In the Marina Centre and Padang area, taxis pick up only at designated taxi points and driveways, and private-hire cars only at designated points. The organiser lists a temporary taxi stand behind The Concourse at Nicoll Highway, near Gate 1, open from 21:30 to midnight. For Gates 4 to 6 there is a pick-up point on Collyer Quay, outside OUE Bayfront, from 19:00 to 01:00. The organiser also notes an S$8 surcharge on taxi rides between 21:30 and midnight.

From Changi Airport station, change at Tanah Merah to the East West Line for City Hall. A metered taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs S$25 to S$45, plus an airport surcharge of S$6 or S$8. For ride-hailing, Changi names Grab, Gojek, Zig, Tada Mobility, Ryde and Geolah. Contactless bank cards and phone wallets pay MRT and bus fares with no sign-up, and foreign cards add an S$0.60 admin fee per day of use.

Stay around Marina Centre, City Hall, Raffles Place or Bayfront for the shortest trip back after the race.

Weather: evening storms and heat

October is inter-monsoon in Singapore, and the Meteorological Service Singapore says thunderstorms, at times severe, come in the afternoon and early evening. Its October normals give a mean daily high of 31.8 °C, a low of 25.0 °C and 15 rain days. The storm window takes in Friday's Practice 1, Saturday's Sprint and each day's gate opening. The event runs rain or shine, so pack a poncho rather than an umbrella. The organiser advises dressing to keep cool, with sunscreen and a cap.

Entering Singapore: the SG Arrival Card and visas

Submit the SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival, counting the day you arrive, so from 7 October if you land on 9 October. It is free on ICA's e-service or the MyICA app. ICA warns about fake or misleading websites and does not endorse paid submission services. ICA's own web addresses always contain .ica.gov.sg.

Passports need at least six months of validity. The arrival card is not a visa, so check your nationality on ICA's visa requirements page. Foreign visitors aged six and over can use the automated lanes without enrolling first. The ticket terms give no refund if you are refused entry or cannot get a visa.

Staying connected over the Formula 1 weekend: why a Donesim eSIM fits

Your phone needs a connection at least once before the gate, because signing in to the Singapore GP app takes a code emailed to the address you bought with. After the late concerts, the phone is also how you book a car to the airport. The organiser lists Wi-Fi only at the patron gates and Information Booths.

Elsewhere, Changi Airport's free Wi-Fi needs no sign-up, and free Wireless@SG hotspots include MRT stations, malls and hawker centres. IMDA says the Wireless@SG login code, sent by SMS, works with foreign numbers. Singapore's tourist SIMs are cheap and generous too, with hundreds of gigabytes of local data for 10 to 30 Singapore dollars on operators' own pages. They are sold at Changi Airport counters and registered to your passport.

Roaming day passes add up. AT&T and Verizon charge 12 USD a day for their day passes in Singapore, 36 USD over three race days, and Telstra charges 10 Australian dollars a day.

Set up your eSIM before you fly

1. Check our compatibility list for your phone, and make sure it is not locked to a carrier.
2. Buy a day or two before you fly, not weeks ahead, since Donesim notes that a plan "may begin when it is provisioned, installed, activated, or first connected".
